We at Hobbywoodcraft have been in the exclusive business of machining and polishing acrylic base plates for over a decade now and have found every brand to be lacking in one department or another. Because of this we decided to formulate our own that addresses all the common issues we have run into which include:
- Insufficient lubrication which causes burns to acrylic and other plastics.
- Fine compound being too course causing excess material to be removed and changing tolerances.
- Insufficient emulsifiers not allowing the compound to effectively stick to the buffing wheel.
- The compound residue is extremely difficult to remove and often requires an ultrasonic cleaner to get rid of.
- The compound will cake up and cook onto the plate causing a hard plaque which is difficult to remove due to a lack of lubrication.
